An M43 Parade Tunic for a Lieutenant of the VVS as worn at the 1945 Victory Parade
This proud Lieutenant wears the special parade tunic issued to all officers to wear during the 1945 Victory Parade. The pattern is based on 1943 regulations with high collar and shoulder boards.
The tunic was worn in combination with regulation blue breeches whose color date back to the blue of the M35 uniform. Officers had a single azure blue pinstripe along the seam. Generals had large double stripes.
The belt worn is a standard brown officer's belt.
As seend by the officers in the background, it was regualtion to wear all full medals at the Victory Parade.
Part of the Parade Tunic were these 'spools' worn a the cuffs. Junior officers had one, Senior officers two and Generals had three. All were gold.
A close up of the medals for this junior officer show the Order of Glory, third class, the medal for Defense of Stalingrad and the Medal for Defense of the Caucasus.
Another unique feature of the parade tunic are these collars with the embroidered bars. The tunic is piped completely in branch of service colors.There were no wings worn by pilots as part of the M43 regulations. All members of the air force had the flying propeller device on their shoulder boards. Technical personnel had a crossed hammers with the propeller.
